sanofi-aventis

sanofi-aventis Visions in Chemistry Symposium, 2008

Historical Perspective

Initiated in 1993 by the R&D Process and Medicinal Chemistry departments from Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, this day-long symposium focused on organic chemistry. The event typically drew over 200 local attendees to the Collegeville, PA campus, of which ~75% consisted of individuals from surrounding pharmaceutical companies and academic institutes.

Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals (formerly Hoechst Marion Roussel & RPR) kept the tradition and spirit of the Visions Symposium alive in Bridgewater, NJ, and the Symposium continues under the auspices of sanofi-aventis. The organizing committee at sanofi-aventis invites all interested scientists in the tri-state area to consider this unique chance to interact with others in your field.

The Symposium provides an opportunity for participants to meet and share research interests for a day through stimulating presentations and gathering times with respect to the current status and future prospects of chemistry. The speakers are selected as recognized pioneers in their respective areas of chemical expertise and whose work most exemplify visionary in chemistry. A list of previous years' speakers at the Visions Symposium follows below.

In 2008, the Symposium will take place on Thursday, May 15th at the Raritan Valley Community College (details)
