Via Automobile
From Baltimore and Points North
Take I-95 South to Washington, D.C.'s CapitalBeltway (I-495).
Take Exit 27 and then follow signs to Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
Turn right onto Campus Drive and then right onto Paint Branch followed
by a left at Stadium Drive. Following the intersection at Paint Branch
and Stadium, Chemistry/Biochemistry is the second building on the left.
From Virginia and Points South
Take I-95 North to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Continue North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.
Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
Turn right onto Campus Drive and then right onto Paint Branch followed
by a left at Stadium Drive. Following the intersection at Paint Branch
and Stadium, Chemistry/Biochemistry is the second building on the left.
From Virginia and Points West
Take I-66 East or I-270 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore/Silver Spring.
Take Exit 25 (U.S. 1 South toward College Park).
Proceed approximately two miles south on U.S. Route 1.
Turn right onto Campus Drive and then right onto Paint Branch followed
by a left at Stadium Drive. Following the intersection at Paint Branch

From Annapolis and Points East
Take U.S. 50 to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Go North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.

Take 16th St. North which becomes Georgia Ave. North at Maryland/D.C. line.

Turn right onto Campus Drive and then right onto Paint Branch followed

From Washington, D.C. (Northeast/Southeast)
Take Rhode Island Ave. (U.S. 1 North) which becomes Baltimore Ave. North at Maryland/D.C. line.
Proceed through the city of College Park.
Turn left onto Campus Drive and then right onto Paint Branch followed
by a left at Stadium Drive. Following the intersection at Paint Branch
and Stadium, Chemistry/Biochemistry is the second building on the left.

Via Air
The
University of Maryland is served by three major airports - Reagan
Washington National (DCA), Baltimore-Washington International (BWI),
and Washington Dulles (IAD). Following are suggestions for travel to
campus from these airport locations.
Reagan National Airport
Located
in Arlington, Virginia, this airport is located about 15 miles south of
College Park. Travel can be slow through downtown Washington, D.C.
during rush hours; approximate driving time is 40 minutes.
You can
take the Metrorail from the airport. Take the Yellow Line (toward Mt.
Vernon Square), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and
get off at College Park/U of MD station. The university's Shuttle-UM
buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the
station. Get off the Shuttle-UM at the "M" (or third) stop.
Baltimore-Washington International
Located
just outside Baltimore, this airport is approximately 25 miles north of
College Park. Driving time is approximately 35 minutes.
MARC Train service is available from the BWI Rail Station to College Park.
Washington Dulles International
Located near Herndon, Virginia, this airport is about 35 miles
southwest of College Park. Driving time is approximately one hour.
Bus service is available to take you to the West Falls Church Metrorail
station where you will take the Orange Line (toward New Carrollton),
transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and get off at
College Park/U of MD station. The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up
university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the station. Get off
the Shuttle-UM at the "M" (or third) stop.

Via Train
Metrorail from Washington, DC
Take the Red Line train (toward Glenmont); transfer at the Fort Totten
station to the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt); get off at the
College Park/U of MD station.
Or take the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt); get off at the College Park/U of MD station.
The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers
on the EAST side of the station. Get off the Shuttle-UM at the "M" (or
third) stop.
MARC from Baltimore (Inner Harbor)
Take the Camden Line train (toward Washington, D.C.); get off at the College Park station.
The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers
on the EAST side of the Metrorail station. Get off the Shuttle-UM at
the "M" (or third) stop.
MARC from Baltimore (Penn Station/West Baltimore/BWI Airport)
Take the Penn Line train (toward Washington, D.C.); get off at Union Station.
Transfer to the Metrorail system.
Take the Red Line train (toward Glenmont); transfer at the Fort Totten
station to the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt); get off at the
College Park/U of MD station.
The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers

AMTRAK
To Washington, D.C. (Union Station): Transfer to Metrorail system. Follow directions above.
